So we pull up to this job a two-door garage, outdoor basement stairs and a back porch landing and it was clear from the jump: these areas had been through some things. Years of vehicle traffic had left the garage floor cracked and battered. The basement stairs appeared poised to become a slippery surface the next time it rained. The porch landing was also a concern. The porch landing exhibited roughness and cracks, causing it to absorb moisture like a sponge. The client wasn’t just looking for a cosmetic fix; they needed something durable, safe and weather-resistant and they needed it to last without constant upkeep.

At Epoxy Boss, we approach the problem differently. We looked at the whole situation and designed a real solution: a full flake system with crack repair, aluminum oxide for slip resistance and 1 ft vertical coatings in the garage for extra wall protection. We first ground open every crack, filled them with polyurea and smoothed them out to prevent resurfacing. We applied a polyurea/polyaspartic basecoat to establish a sturdy foundation and then evenly distributed durable vinyl flakes throughout every inch. The surface is textured, seamless and resilient enough to withstand cars, boots, salt, rain and any other challenges life may present. For the garage walls, we extended the coating 1 foot up to block water, stains and grime buildup. To enhance the traction and safety of the outdoor stairs, we incorporated aluminum oxide into the topcoat.

What was the final step? We locked everything in with a UV-stable, chemical-resistant polyaspartic topcoat that’s simple to clean, won't fade and stands up to brutal use without blinking. Now? The garage looks clean and armored. The stairs are safe and solid. The porch looks brand-new and shrugs off the rain like it's nothing.
