Description

So here’s the scoop Andrew from Mississauga reached out to us looking to give his 450 sqft basement floor a proper facelift. The concrete was in decent shape no deep cracks or major drama but it had that typical raw, gray look that made the space feel more like storage than something you’d actually want to spend time in. He wanted a floor that looked clean, was easy to maintain and added some serious visual appeal. No more dusty slab he wanted it slick, solid and built to last. Oh and he wasn’t about that DIY headache. He wanted pros who’d get it done clean, quick and without stepping on the rest of his renovation timeline.

That’s where we came in. We proposed a flake system with a 4” cove base, which gave him the perfect combo of durability, style and zero-maintenance appeal. The flake adds texture and depth, the polyaspartic topcoat seals it up tight and the cove base gives that seamless look right into the wall no dirt traps, no edge failure, just clean lines and clean floors. But more than the system it’s how we delivered it. On time, no babysitting, zero mess left behind. That’s the Epoxy Boss way. Contractors love working with us because we’re self-managed, organized and we make your job easier not harder. Whether it’s a one-off basement or part of a bigger build, you call, we show up and your floor turns into the best part of the jobsite. It's as simple as that.

Let’s break it down the basement wasn’t bad, but we weren’t here to settle for “not bad.” Here’s how we turned Andrew’s floor from meh to money.

  • Surface Prep - Grit First, Glory Later
We kicked things off with full diamond grinding to clean up the slab and give our coating something to bite into. It’s the most important part and yeah, we don’t skimp on it.

  • Crack Touch-Up - Minor Fix, Major Difference
Concrete was mostly solid, but we spotted a few little spots that needed attention. Patched, smoothed and blended because even a “clean slab” can use a little TLC before the fun starts.

  • Basecoat - The Anchor Layer
Down went the basecoat strong, adhesive and ready to carry the system. This layer sets the tone and locks the whole job down with that signature Epoxy Boss bond.

  • Full Flake Broadcast - Texture Meets Style
We achieve complete coverage of flakes from top to bottom. This is where the floor starts talking color, texture, slip resistance and that commercial-grade durability baked in.

  • 4” Cove Base - Seamless Like a Pro
We took it vertical with a 4-inch cove base, giving Andrew a clean finish right up the wall. No seams, no grime traps, just that polished look from top to bottom.

  • Topcoat - Lock and Load
Last step? Polyaspartic topcoat fast-curing, high-performance and built to last. It provides a durable, easy-to-clean finish that every basement deserves.
